We bought this building in 2018 after admiring it’s architecture, history and the fact that our son’s name is Jack. SF Chronicle article about tenant ‘Bar Works’ The restaurant had served many famous actors and actresses and was said to be a favorite of Alfred Hitchcock.
“Hitchcock was a regular diner at the restaurant and an upstairs room was later renamed the “Alfred Hitchcock Room” in his honor. According to local legend, Hitchcock introduced the mimosa cocktail to America one Sunday morning whilst dining at Jack’s and suffering with a hangover.”
